Welcome to the Condo!
I just wanted to drop a line and thank you all for dropping by. I’ve been anxiously awaiting this day for weeks, and I’m really excited to hear what you all think of my strip. I’ve got a lot of crazy stuff planned for the Griffins, and I hope you’ll all be along for the ride.
Before we start the party I’d like to give huge thanks to two people who helped me get this comic made.
Joshua De Los Reyes has been working tirelessly as my webmaster for about a month now, and I can honestly say that without him the site would be a goddamn fireball. On top of being my secret weapon, Josh has plans for his own webstrip. We’ve discussed some of his ideas, and he’s got some great things planned. If he puts as much effort into his projects as he has mine, he’s bound to strike gold.
Secondly, I’d like to thank the real life Patrick MacBlain. Patrick is a fellow member of Comic Geek Speak’s Comic Forums, a hub for a plethora of great comicbook podcasts. Back in August 2008, Patrick posted a thread titled, “I got a name for a thing but no name.” He threw out the name Time Space Condominium to anyone who was on the boards. After reading those three little words, I blurted out:
“How about a sitcom style comicbook about a guy who shares a condo with versions of himself from alternate realities. Hold on… that’s a pretty fucking funny idea. Dibs!”
It’s strange where you find inspiration, huh?
As a nod to his role in creating this strip, I’ve made Patrick MacBlain an integral part of the history of the show– the timid country boy who travelled to the big city armed with three words and a big dream. Hopefully I’ll be able to thank the real Patrick properly one day– with copious amounts of booze.
See you next week.
