Episode 9: Griffin Murders Himself… Again (4 of 7)
STC: The Show That Wouldn’t Die
Space-time Condominium became a late night darling thanks to its programming adjacency with Maple Leaf Wrestling, much to the chagrin of producer Scott Coles. Scott explains:
“I had had enough of the in fighting and bruised egos. I moved STC to a late night time slot to kill it, and it was reborn like a phoenix. A fucking annoying, bloated, self-destructive fiery turkey, really. My plan had backfired, but I really couldn’t complain. The show was starting to pay off, and the advertising dollar was higher than ever. The show was like a sad, low class whore that finally started turning tricks. I was happy to be its pimp.”
And pimp he did. For a brief time, the STC logo was inescapable, finding its way onto lunchboxes, coffee mugs, and even stationary. It wasn’t long before toy companies came calling.
