Fox Sues Space-Time Condominium!

The then fledgling FOX network caught wind of Klymaxx’s lawsuit against Space-Time Condominium and, with the scent of blood still fresh in the water, attacked like frenzied sharks. Fox felt that Space-Time Condominium had too many similarities to their middling series “Herman’s Head,” and filed a plagiarism suit against the popular Canadian show in the fall of 1994.

The Space-Time Condominium creators thought FOX’s lawsuit was laughable, going so far to take jabs at “Herman’s Head” in an episode of Space-Time Condominium. In a candid 1994 phone interview with Entertainment Weekly, Patrick MacBlain made his feelings known:

“Fuck FOX and everyone who works with them. Assholes. They don’t have a leg to stand on. I’d never even heard of Herman’s Head before their lawyers showed up at our doorstep. How could I rip them off? Clearly, I lifted my ideas from David Gerrold’s novel (“The Man Who Folded Himself”).

Wait… I’ve had a bit to drink, uh, could you strike that from the record or whatever?”
