One part Adams, one part Timm, add vodka… and light on fire!

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Check out the interview I did at Superheroes-R-Us with Geek Girl, Lorrie Thomas. It’s a fun little Q&A that’ll give you a glimpse into my crazy little brain.

Come visit me at Wondercon!

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

This weekend the biggest comic convention in the Bay Area hits San Francisco. That’s right, it’s Wondercon time, baby! I’ll be in artist alley (AA69) peddling my wares, kissing mothers and slapping babies.

I’ll be flanked by SRG Presents: Gnome publisher Jason Martin, and Geek Savants  co-host and artist supreme Super Ugly, so we’re bound to be in good spirits– or inebriated by them at the very least. Be sure to come by and say hello!

Convention Season has begun! I’m drunk!

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Okay, I’m not really drunk, but I was completely sauced this last weekend at the SF Wondercon. If this show was any indication, the 2009 con season is going to be awesome.

Thanks to everyone that came by the table, commissioned a sketch, or bought me a beer. The next round is on me!

STC Convention Special Vol. 1

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Convention Season is upon us, and I’ve decided to do something a little different this year. No, I’m not talking about sobriety, I’m talking about the first ever STC Convention Special! This limited edition book collects the first episode of Space-Time Condominium (Episode 2, if you’re splitting hairs), and features a sketch section, cast photos and more, all wrapped up in this sweet DVD style cardstock cover:

stc_cover_web

That’s a lot of Labatt, eh?

Cover price is $10… a little steep, sure, but I’ll be throwing in a nice inked sketch of your favorite Griff on the blank back cover.  There are only 50 signed and numbered copies in existence, and when they’re  gone, they’re gone for  good! No portion of this book will be reprinted until the series is collected… over a year from now!

Check back here for my convention schedule and be sure to track this bad boy down!

Another STC Review

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

I just wanted to thank Jackson Ferrell of Webcomic Week for his review of STC. In it he calls the show “a new comic with a truly bizarre premise” and recommends the series to new readers as  they’ve “probably never read a comic like this, so it’s worth checking out.”

Thanks for the kind words, man! I promise that the show is going to get weirder. Notice I didn’t say better…

UPDATE- The STC Convention Edition…

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

… is at the printer. Man, the photo section is too funny. I can’t wait for you all to see it! Tee hee!

I’m such a tease…

New Concept Art- “Almost Evil!”

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

So over the weekend, STC webmaster extraordinaire, Josh de los Reyes and I met for coffee to discuss some of the changes we have planned for the STC site. In between throwing around design ideas and geeking out over the latest issue of The Walking Dead, I doodled up some of the characters for Josh’s upcoming webcomic, “Almost Evil.”

Check them out in the Bonus: Commissions page!

It may take him a bit of time, but this series is going to be sweet. Drop him an email, and let him know what you think of his wacky villians!

STC @ The Gallery Project, April 15th thru May 24th

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Some how I snuck my art into this awesome art show in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Here’s the blurb… the featured artists are INCREDIBLE!

Gallery Project presents Visual Storytelling, a multi-media exhibit showcasing the craft and imagination of a young generation of artists nationally known for their iconic graphic illustrations and gripping sequential narratives. The exhibit opens at noon on Wednesday, April 15, and runs until 4 on Sunday, May 24. The reception is on Friday, April 17, from 6-9. The artists of Visual Storytelling enjoy life in virtual worlds of their own creation. In these worlds, heroes, villains and otherworldly creatures reign, waging battles for dominance and survival and questing for clarity and truth in an uncertain world. The illustrations and visual narrations that weave their stories are the subject matter of this exhibit. Media include single page sequences, individual illustrations, roundabouts, sketchbooks, videos, models, and storyboards. The exhibit is curated by three Ann Arborites: former Katie Cook, graphic designer Ryan N. Wilcox, and Gallery Project collaborator, Matt Degenaro.

Artists in the exhibit include Katie Cook, Jeremy Bastion, Matt Busch, Joshua Cotter, Dan Cutler, Guy Davis , Jamie Dee Galey, Dave Dwonch (Woot! Woot!), Anthony Fontana, Sandra Fontana, Jay Fosgitt , Otis Frampton, Jessica Hickman, Spring gallery hours: Tuesday through Thursday, noon-6; Friday and Saturday, noon-9; and Sunday, noon-4. The gallery is closed on Mondays. For more information, please call 734-997-7012 or contact us through our website: thegalleryproject.com.
